Saba and Khizar (brother and sister) run Zelmi Theater in Peshawar. Both are bestowed with profound humorous instincts and are associated with the Alternate Solutions Institute for the last four years. They are the permanent part of ASI team and regularly deliver their theatrical performances in the institutes entertainment segment. The theatrical performance delivered by Saba and Khizer was thought-provoking and permeated a deep insight into the minds of the spectators. Right from the drama plot down to the theatrical performance, the whole segment caught the attention of the viewers with magnetic might. Saba and Khizar identified the concealed potential among the participants. Some were spotted as script writers while others were identified as actors/performers. The performers of the drama included Nazia and Saadia (both are blood sisters); Saba impersonated as the mother of Nazia whose husband (Zia) was an arrogant man and was employed as a driver by one of a local MNA. He was habitual to inflict fierce corporal punishment upon his wife in routine domestic life. The story commenced when Zia fractured his wifes bones. Her mother (Saba) took her to the nearest hospital where the doctor (Dr. Abbas) treated her and forwarded the case to the police station. The Station House Officer (Khizar) was a pleasure-seeking person who took the matter on a lighter note. Human rights activist Sadia came to the rescue of Nazia which resulted in the arrest of her husband (Zia). He confessed the offense and assured the gathering assembled in the police station that he will abstain from committing such acts in future and would act like a gentleman acceptable to the society. Spontaneous acting and Sabas humorous dialogues made a bunch of laughter among the audience. Waleed summarized the fundamental motif of the theatrical play and further pinpointed that a vigilant citizenry could keep the police and countrys system correct and that they ought to be conscious of their respective roles. The theatrical play confronted some criticism and one of the participants objected to the content of the drama script and asserted that the male character in the drama embodied the mockery of Pakhtun race and ridiculed the manner in which the house wives are treated by them at homes. Col. Anees Sahibzada countered the reservations and elucidated that the performers portrayed the domestic violence incidents which usually go unnoticed and unreported and that it wasnt intended whatsoever manner to offend the Pashtun community. The audience applauded the efforts of the performers and appreciated the theatrical play.
