The Launch Of Freedom To Trade Campaign In Pakistan
A member of the Global Freedom to Trade Campaign, A. S. Institute, arranged the launch of Freedom to Trade Campaign 2003 on September 4 at Lahore Press Club. Some 50 persons participated in the event out of which more than 30 were journalists representing Urdu and English newspapers and news agencies.

On 3rd July, 2009 was organized 2nd Consultative Meeting of selected social scientists, which was addressed and moderated by Dr. Nadeem-ul-Haque, former Vice Chancellor, Pakistan Institute of Development Economics (PIDE), and currently Advisor IMF Institute, Washington, D.C. Leading experts from the fields of political science, philosophy, sociology, economics, and public policy belonging to various institutes participated.

As part of its endeavor “Creating Intellectual Capital and Changing the Climate of Opinion: Building Institutional Mechanisms,” Alternate Solutions Institute has initiated a series of well-concerted consultative meetings. The first meeting of this series was held in a local hotel in Lahore on June 16, 2009 which focused on the issue of “Informing and Influencing Public Policy and Public Discourse.”

As part of its Students Outreach Project, Alternate Solutions Institute experimented a get-together in a local hotel in Lahore on April 2, 2009. About 35 selected students and young people were invited to the get-together and they were asked to bring one or two of their fellows and friends interested in ideas.
